Golubtsi, also known as stuffed cabbage, is a delicious dish made by wrapping a flavorful mixture of ground beef, matzo meal, and spices in softened cabbage leaves. These cabbage rolls are then simmered in a sweet and tangy tomato sauce with raisins and onions.

cup matzo meal

oz tomato sauce

Instructions
1. Boil the cabbage until soft, and then separate the leaves. 2. Mix the filling ingredients: matzo meal, ketchup, lemon juice, ground beef, egg, water, and sugar. 3. Place a little bit of filling into each cabbage leaf, and roll up. 4. Mix together the sauce ingredients: sugar, diced onion, raisins, lemon juice, tomato sauce, and salt. 5. Place the sauce into a pot. 6. Place each filled cabbage leaf into the pot, and then add water to the pot to cover the contents. 7. Boil together for 2 hours, on low.
